About the Programs Roads Scholar Program
The Roads Scholar Program provides road maintenance and public works personnel with specialized training in the fundamentals of roadway maintenance, management practices, and cost-effective techniques. Participants complete six required courses and three electives, totaling 53 hours of training. Since its inception in 1988, more than 3,800 individuals have earned the Roads Scholar designation.
Road Master Program
Building upon the Roads Scholar foundation, the Road Master Program offers a more advanced level of technical and managerial training designed for those in supervisory roles. To earn the Road Master designation, participants must first complete the Roads Scholar Program, then complete four required courses and three electives, totaling 42 hours of training. Since the program began in 1998, over 2,900 professionals have achieved Road Master status.
