IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician II

The Traffic Signal II Certification certifies that the holder possesses operational knowledge and hands-on experience that provide a solid foundation in traffic signal technology.

The certification demonstrates the technician’s extensive training in evaluating traffic signal control systems, on-site repairs, and maintenance techniques and tools.

The exam topics covered include advanced controller programming, signal maintenance, traffic signal operations and equipment standards, and detection, communication installation and troubleshoot, basic networking, document preparation, testing of equipment, and troubleshooting.

Those who hold a certification are ready to contribute significantly to the upkeep and repair of signalized intersections.

Audience

Individuals who participate in all aspects of Traffic Signal specialties are encouraged to complete this course.

Prerequisites
  • Two years of experience in the Traffic Signal field
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician I
  • IMSA Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician or IMSA approved Work Zone equivalent (UK T2 Work Zone Supervisor is approved)
